On a Planar Dynamical System Arising in the Network Control Theory
2016
We study the structure of attractors in the two-dimensional dynamical system that appears in the network control theory. We provide description of the attracting set and follow changes this set suffers under the changes of positive parameters µ and Θ.

RISQUE ASSOCIE A L'UTILISATION DE LA LOI DE BENFORD POUR DETECTER DES VENTES FRAUDULEUSES DE BIENS INNOVANTS A LA MODE
2010
Benford's law has been promoted as providing the auditors with a turnkey solution for fraud detection. The purpose of this paper is to show it is not always possible to detect fraudulent sales with that law. We use sales in volume of game consoles in Japan (since 1989), in United-States, in France, in Germany and in United-Kingdom (since 2000). After reviewing briefly the literature and our study design, the chi-square test and the bias analysis were used to measure the goodness-of-fit to Benford's law. Despite the absence of actual fraud, these sale series of fashion goods are not significantly in conformity with Benford's law. Thus, for the detection of fraudulent sales in this sector, th…
Stochastic analysis of dynamical systems with delayed control forces
2006
Abstract Reduction of structural vibration in actively controlled dynamical system is usually performed by means of convenient control forces dependent of the dynamic response. In this paper the existent studies will be extended to dynamical systems subjected to non-normal delta-correlated random process with delayed control forces. Taylor series expansion of the control forces has been introduced and the statistics of the dynamical response have been obtained by means of the extended Ito differential rule. Numerical application provided shows the capabilities of the proposed method to analyze stochastic dynamic systems with delayed actions under delta-correlated process contrasting statist…

ATTRACTORS FOR A LATTICE DYNAMICAL SYSTEM GENERATED BY NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS MODELING SUSPENSIONS
2010
In this paper we consider a lattice dynamical system generated by a parabolic equation modeling suspension flows. We prove the existence of a global compact connected attractor for this system and the upper semicontinuity of this attractor with respect to finite-dimensional approximations. Also, we obtain a sequence of approximating discrete dynamical systems by the implementation of the implicit Euler method, proving the existence and the upper semicontinuous convergence of their global attractors.
Attractors of stochastic lattice dynamical systems with a multiplicative noise and non-Lipschitz nonlinearities
2012
AbstractIn this paper we study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a first-order stochastic lattice dynamical system with a multiplicative noise. We do not assume any Lipschitz condition on the nonlinear term, just a continuity assumption together with growth and dissipative conditions, so that uniqueness of the Cauchy problem fails to be true.Using the theory of multi-valued random dynamical systems we prove the existence of a random compact global attractor.
Asymptotic regime in N random interacting species
2005
The asymptotic regime of a complex ecosystem with \emph{N}random interacting species and in the presence of an external multiplicative noise is analyzed. We find the role of the external noise on the long time probability distribution of the i-th density species, the extinction of species and the local field acting on the i-th population. We analyze in detail the transient dynamics of this field and the cavity field, which is the field acting on the $i^{th}$ species when this is absent. We find that the presence or the absence of some population give different asymptotic distributions of these fields.
Delay-Range-Dependent Linear Matrix Inequality Approach to Quantized H∞ Control of Linear Systems with Network-Induced Delays and Norm-Bounded Uncert…
2010
This paper deals with a convex optimization approach to the problem of robust network-based H∞ control for linear systems connected over a common digital communication network with static quantizers. Both the polytopic and the norm-bounded uncertainties are taken into consideration separately. First, the effect of both the output quantization levels and the network conditions under static quantizers is investigated. Second, by introducing a descriptor technique, using a Lyapunov—Krasovskii functional and a suitable change of variables, new required sufficient conditions are established in terms of delay-range-dependent linear matrix inequalities for the existence of the desired network-bas…
Response determination of linear dynamical systems with singular matrices: A polynomial matrix theory approach
2017
Abstract An approach is developed based on polynomial matrix theory for formulating the equations of motion and for determining the response of multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) linear dynamical systems with singular matrices and subject to linear constraints. This system modeling may appear for reasons such as utilizing redundant DOFs, and can be advantageous from a computational cost perspective, especially for complex (multi-body) systems. The herein developed approach can be construed as an alternative to the recently proposed methodology by Udwadia and coworkers, and has the significant advantage that it circumvents the use of pseudoinverses in determining the system response. In fact, ba…
